Johnny Gargano is the next in line to receive a shot at the NXT Title.
This should come as a shocker to almost everyone reading this. Johny Gargano hasn't even won a main roster title yet, so how did he end up on this list? Well, the answer to this is that Gargano is expected to become the first-ever NXT Grand Slam Champion. Ever since Gargano made his Black & Yellow Brand debut in 2015, he has been a part of some classic matches. Two of his matches last year even received a 5-star rating from WON's Dave Meltzer.

Gargano has had a decorated career on NXT so far. He has reigned as both a Tag Team and a North American Champion. The most recent edition of NXT (where DIY collapsed again) almost guaranteed Johnny Wrestling's spot in the NXT Championship match at NXT Takeover: New York. The event is scheduled to take place during the Wrestlemania weekend.
Gargano is long overdue a World Title run on NXT. So, it will make perfect sense for him to be crowned as the new Champion at the event, and make history in the process by becoming NXT's inaugural Grand Slam Champion.

Ali Siddiqui is a listicle and feature writer for Sportskeeda Wrestling since 2018. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, he decided to write for Sportskeeda Wrestling after learning about it through a friend. He briefly worked for The Sportster as well.
Ali's love for pro wrestling dates back to when Randy Orton won a Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004. His current favorite wrestler is Cody Rhodes because he's the ultimate throwback babyface. He believes Rhodes has the Surfer Sting's passion, Bret Hart's prop-gifting schtick, a catchy theme like Hogan's, and a kid-friendly demeanor akin to John Cena's.
When he is not doing research for his articles on Google or catching up with the latest in pro wrestling, Ali can be found honing his Data Science and AI skills as he strives to get back into tech in the near future.
