Dean Ambrose joined The Authority alongside his Shield teammates Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, when the team was formed back in 2013. The Shield didn't remain members of The Authority for long, since the group turned on Kane in March 2014 and walked away from the group.

Dean Ambrose was the main star that Seth Rollins aimed his anger towards when he turned on The Shield, which led to a feud between the two men where Rollins came out on top ever time. Ambrose finally got some revenge on his long time friend and enemy at Money in the Bank 2016 when he walked out as WWE Champion.
Ambrose then went on to dominate SmackDown without his Shield teammates and a few Shield reunions later, Ambrose left WWE. The former World Champion made the decision to not re-sign when his contract expired back in 2019 and went on to sign for All Elite Wrestling.
At present, Dean Ambrose is known as Jon Moxley in AEW and is their reigning World Champion.
