Pro: A proper WrestleMania program
The major weakness in the women's division isn't their lack of participation in any particular match type. As always, the biggest problem is booking, and the women's division has suffered from very poor creative decisions for the past year. In late 2015-16, things looked to be heading in the right direction, but that momentum has been lost this year.
Nowhere is this more evident than WrestleMania itself. Last year's spectacle featured the highly praised triple threat match between Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks. This year's featured a fatal 4- way and a 6-pack challenge where no one really mattered.
Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
A women's Royal Rumble has the potential to change that, setting up a proper WrestleMania program that actually feels like it matters.
Perhaps finally we could be in for a women's WrestleMania singles match for the first time since 2007... and one that lasts for longer than 3 minutes.
