#11 The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns

Will this be The Deadman’s last outing?

The Undertaker is back for his yearly WrestleMania match, and he will be facing Roman Reigns at this year’s event. This all started at the Royal Rumble. The Deadman had announced he would be entering the 2017 Royal Rumble match.

After a strong showing, Roman Reigns entered at number 30 and eliminated The Undertaker much to everyone’s disdain. Reigns stared down The Undertaker, but at this point, it was not clear whether they would face each other or whether Braun Strowman would face one of them.

This would soon become apparent on Raw as The Undertaker and Roman Reigns had an altercation thanks in part to Braun Strowman. Strowman called out Reigns, but Undertaker responded. Reigns took exception to this and confronted the Deadman, stating that the ring was now his yard, not the Undertaker’s.

Undertaker chokeslammed Reigns.

Over the next couple of weeks, The Undertaker would taunt Reigns and try and get in his head. Last week, a gong echoed through the arena as Reigns was taking on Mahal in a singles match. The distraction did not cost Reigns the match but did cause Shawn Michaels to make an appearance.

He offered friendly advice and a word of warning to Reigns about what he was getting into with The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Reigns responded by saying he would retire The Undertaker.

This week, The Undertaker made an appearance during a match between Strowman and Reigns, chokeslamming Strowman to show his dominance. However, caught off guard, The Undertaker took a spear at the hands of Reigns. This seemed to anger The Deadman more, however, as he throat-slashed at Reigns who was exiting the arena.

This is sure to be one hell of a battle. The Undertaker is nearing the end of his career but is looking particularly fresh this year during his appearances. It’s a shame that Roman Reigns never resonated with the crowd the way the WWE thought he would, as I fear the adverse reaction may sour the match somewhat.

However, should Reigns beat The Undertaker, this will feed into all that hatred and make the crowd reaction towards Reigns a lot stronger. He could even turn heel off the back of it. He has been hinting at it with his attitude over the past few weeks. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
