#7 Alexa Bliss vs. Carmella vs. Natalya vs. Mickie James vs. Becky Lynch – WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Alexa Bliss won her Women’s Championship back after Naomi had to forfeit the title due to injury. She managed to knock off Becky Lynch for the vacant belt, and it was like she’d never lost the title in the first place.
Due to the majority of the female roster feeling like they were owed a title shot, Daniel Bryan decided to give them one, as he declared that Alex Bliss would defend her title against all available female participants at the ultimate thrill ride, WrestleMania 33.
Fans drowned out a popular wrestler with 'She's a racist' chants recently
Last night on SmackDown, we saw a brawl on the show between the leading contenders that left Alexa Bliss the last woman standing. This is the only real build up we’ve had for this match. The whole thing feels kind of messy and cobbled together, which is a little bit of an insult to the female talent involved.
The problem this year, is that WrestleMania’s card is so stacked, especially with the brand split, that it’s hard to get everyone who deserves a spot on the show, that opportunity. So quite a few matches veer away from one on one bouts and become Fatal 4-ways, Fatal 5-ways, etc.
I think WWE would have been better off having a one-on-one match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship this year, especially given that Raw have done near enough the same thing with their Women’s Championship as four competitors will fight for the belt in that match…
