Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was born in Hayward, California to Ata Johnson of Samoan heritage and Rocky Johnson a Black Nova Scotian. Rocky Johnson was a part of the first black tag team to win the WWE World Tag-Team Championship. His grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia was a wrestler and his grandmother, Lia Maivia, was one of the few female wrestling promoters, who took over Polynesian Pacific Pro Wrestling after Peter Maivia passed away.
The now 44-year old was a really promising football player and received several offers from many Division-1 collegiate programs, and selected the University of Miami to play defensive tackle. He was later a part of the Miami Hurricanes’ national championship team. But, got sidelined due to an injury, and was replaced by future NFL star Warren Sapp.
Also while attending the University of Miami; Rock met his now-ex-wife Dany Garcia. The Rock after graduating from the University of Miami with degrees in Criminology and Physiology, The Rock joined the Calgary Stampeders’ practice roster as a backup linebacker but was cut out after two months into the season.
The Rock after finding no success in football started training in pro-wrestling. Pro-wrestling veteran, Pat Patterson was the one who got The Rock tryout matches in the WWE and also received training from Mark Henry, Tom Prichard, and Achim Albrecht.
The Rock made his debut in 1996 as Rocky Maivia, which is a combination of both his father and grandfather’s ring names. He was marketed as WWE’s first third-generation wrestler. The entire Rocky Miavia babyface gimmick was not working out for him as the crowd hated him because of his cheesy character, thus making the crowd chant “Rocky Sucks!” and “Die, Rocky Die!”.
Due to such heat he was turned heel by making him join the heel faction “The Nation of Domination” thus, creating “The Rock” persona, which got him over with the fans and turned him into a household name.
The Rock’s cousins are or were pro-wrestlers in the WWE namely, The Usos, Roman Reigns, Umaga, Nia Jax, Yokozuna, Rikishi, and Rosey.

Hart and Rock did a lot of promotional activities for this movie through their social media accounts and by appearing on different shows:-
The Rock’s Diet
The Rock adjusts his diet according to the roles for his movies, and his age. In an interview with bodybuilding.com The Rock talked about his diet saying that
Generally, I eat six or seven times a day," he says. "It's about getting enough protein to aid lean muscle growth, and everything is very precisely measured depending on what targets I'm looking to hit for that day. Lots of protein, good carbs, and veggies. Nutrition is so important, it can't be stressed enough.
He then told the website about his diet in preparation for his movie Hercules in which he played the lead role of the demigod.
"For 'Hercules,' it was a 22-week diet, full on. I'd eat a bunch of egg whites, filet mignon, chicken, fish, oatmeal, broccoli, asparagus, a baked potato, cream of rice, salad and complex carbs. All of this measured and weighed. It was all about hard work, discipline, and balance. I had carbs with every meal, so there was always a balance of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Then part of my daily regime was my glucosamine and then also a multitude of multivitamins. Then I had glutamine, branched-chain amino acids, chondroitin, and one protein shake a day, which I drank after training."
Johnson, then 41, talked about molding his entire workout regime considering his age
"When I hit 40, I really began to start training smarter," he states with a chuckle. "I've always tried to educate myself on my nutrition, about supplements, what I'm eating, when I'm eating, exercises, calories, and so on. Eventually I hired an awesome conditioning coach who helped me. He helped me prepare for a variety of these roles, and in between roles, hitting different things. And when we get into our 40s, all of a sudden we start feeling aches and pains. I take glucosamine and chondroitin for my poor joints."
The Rock while training for Hercules ate seven protein packed meals every day, but now eats five protein packed meals. The Rock feels that just lifting weights don’t give you the muscles you desire. Putting the right kinds of food in your body is also equally important. The Rock’s five-day meal plan is something as follows:-
