When a fan recently asked Perkins whether there's a quote that he lives by everyday, he responded with Nike's tagline. When a user asked him about one of Rock's mottos, he replied by saying that real guys don't say it out loud.
The Brahma Bull didn't take this too kindly and hit back at Perkins. He responded to Perkins and said that he has never heard of him. Check out the exchange below:

That goes without question. But real ones don’t say it out loud. Which brings me back to the first quote 😉
After working on the independent scene for years on end, TJ Perkins bagged a contract with WWE and qualified for WWE's Cruiserweight Classic tournament by defeating Fred Yehi at Evolve 61. After wins over Da Mack, Johnny Gargano, Rich Swann, Kota Ibushi, and Gran Metalik, he was crowned the inaugural WWE Cruiserweight Champion.
Earlier this year, Perkins faced Humberto Carrillo on an episode of WWE 205 Live, which turned out to be his last match with the promotion. Perkins was released from the company on February 22, 2019. Ever since then, he has wrestled for several promotions, including Impact Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
