The Rock's last WWE appearance was on the RAW following WrestleMania 40. He announced he will be taking off for a while, but will return at some point to pursue Cody Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Since then, The Bloodline has been through several changes. Solo Sikoa has taken over leadership and The Tongans and Jacob Fatu have joined the faction, while Paul Heyman is being held hostage.
An 'Acknowledgement Ceremony' has been announced for the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown. As per Xero News, the ceremony "might be rather electrifying". Since, The Rock is known as The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment, one can assume there's a pun intended in that tweet. The WWE Universe may witness The Final Boss make his comeback to the ring during the ceremony to begin the next chapter of The Bloodline Saga.
Even though the chances of The Final Boss showing up on WWE SmackDown before Roman Reigns is bleak, one should always expected the unexpected in the Stamford-based promotion.

Further speculations are that The Brahma Bull will return to lead the heels of The Bloodline while Roman Reigns will return as babyface, reunite with The Usos, and The Tribal Chief will lead the babyfaces of The Bloodline. As a result, this will lead to The Bloodline's Civil War.
WWE veteran explained The Rock's current WWE character
The Brahma Bull returned to the squared circle while simultaneously joining TKO's Board of Directors. Therefore, he is the 'boss' both inside the ring and behind the scenes, hence introducing 'The Final Boss' moniker.
WWE veteran Brian Gewirtz explained the character while speaking on The Masked Man show, breaking down how The Rock can insert himself into any storyline or angle as 'The Final Boss'.
"There is definitely a difference between the usual, 'I’m going to go make a movie and maybe I’ll return,’ to this lingering presence of Dwayne Johnson on the TKO Board of Directors and The Rock essentially now existing in the space that is WWE, who can drop a Final Boss promo on Instagram anytime he wants in relation to a storyline, or tweet something. I don’t think it’s going to be a regular occurrence, but I do think it’s going to happen and it’s great because he’s in it, and by extension, I’m in it too."
The Rock dropped several promos as 'The Final Boss' during the run upto WrestleMania 40, especially for the tag team match between Roman Reigns & himself and Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins.
