2. The New Day
It's been a year of ups and downs for The New Day, but they remain one of the top tag teams in WWE today. The New Day entered 2020 holding the SmackDown Tag Team Championships while Xavier Woods was out dealing with an injury. In February, they lost the titles to The Miz and John Morrison, and then failed to regain them at WrestleMania 36.
Just 13 days later, Big E won the titles back in a triple threat match with The Miz and Jey Uso, making The New Day six-time SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
Three months later however, The New Day would again lose the titles, this time to Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro. Shortly after, Kofi Kingston would reveal he needed to miss at least 6 weeks due to injury, and Big E began a singles run.
In October, both Woods and Kingston returned and defeated Nakamura and Cesaro to become seven-time SmackDown Tag Team Champions. As part of the 2020 WWE Draft, Woods and Kingston were drafted to Raw, while Big E was kept on SmackDown. For the first time ever, The New Day had been split between two brands.
The New Day and The Street Profits swapped titles, and The New Day became three-time Raw Tag Team Champions. The New Day would drop the titles to The Hurt Business at TLC, but Big E would defeat Sami Zayn to become the WWE Intercontinental Champion on the Christmas Day episode of SmackDown.
The New Day continues to be one of the best tag teams in the WWE today, and 2020 has proved that no matter what is thrown at them, they seemingly always come out on top.
