While speaking with Austin, Calaway stated that he suffered a concussion early on in the match and that he doesn't remember much from that night. The last thing he recalls is a backstage conversation that he had with his wife in the afternoon.
The Undertaker also talked about how the concussion messed up his confidence.
"Somewhere within the first five minutes of this match, I get concussed. I don’t even remember this night. My last memory I can definitively tell you happened at about 3:30 in the afternoon when my wife came backstage and we had a conversation. That’s the last thing that I remember on my own of that day.
"This scr**ed up my confidence. You figure after you’ve had a career 25 plus years, you’ve seen every situation, you don’t get shook up. Well that is a false belief 'cause this shook me up. Because I couldn’t pinpoint where I got concussed."
That match will live on forever in WWE history, and the Undertaker's new revelation is sure to add even further intrigue to it. It'll be fascinating to see if any future event can ever match the Undertaker vs Lesnar showdown for sheer shock value.
