In 2013, The Usos had yet to reach their full potential and win tag team gold in the WWE. They had received a few shots at the titles, but Jimmy and Jey hadn't really hit the heights of superstardom that they would go on to. One of their first star-making performances took place at the Money In The Bank 2013 Kickoff, where they faced Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns of The Shield.
The Shield were in the middle of a fabulous run where they were undefeated in six man and tag team contests. Their WWE Tag Team Championship reign was still in its infancy, but The Usos proved to be the biggest challenge. Both teams were young and hungry here. All four men set out to steal the show and nearly did on the Kickoff Show.
This was a high energy match that had high octane action and never let up its fast pace throughout. The crowd was on fire and reacted to all the big moves exactly how they wanted to. The Shield isolated Jey Uso and had him work from underneath, leading to an awesome hot tag for The Usos.
This one slowly built to a really fun finish where Jimmy and Jey looked to double team their opponents on several different occasions. Jimmy looked to have control and set up Seth for a top rope Samoan Drop, but Roman blind tagged in and Seth reversed the maneuver into a powerbomb. Reigns followed up with a spear for the win.
This Money In The Bank Kickoff Match showcased four talents that would prove to be top stars in the main event and tag team divisions for years to come. Seth and Roman would become multi-time world champions, while The Usos would go on to tag team glory on several occasions.
