Title win after 923 days, MITB cash in - 4 new champions to expect at WWE SummerSlam 2024

WWE SummerSlam 2024 is the next Premium Live Event fans can look forward to. As one of the Stamford-based promotion's major shows, fans should expect several championships to be on the line and some twists along the way.

WWE SummerSlam 2024 will take place on August 3, 2024, at the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. Two matches are already scheduled for the event, Gunther vs Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship and Nia Jax vs Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship. However, fans can expect more gold to be on the line for The Biggest Party of the Summer.

For this list, we will look at the four new champions that could be crowned at WWE SummerSlam 2024.

#4. Gunther could dethrone Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship

Damian Priest has encountered a lot as the World Heavyweight Champion during his reign so far. He has defended the title against Jey Uso, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins, but the one star that he should look out for the most is Gunther.

The Ring General made history as the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion and accomplished this task by defeating hard-hitting superstars regularly. He overcame several top performers to be this year's King of the Ring, granting him the opportunity to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam. With Bash in Berlin also set for next month, the likelihood of the World Heavyweight Championship changing hands has only increased.

#3. and #2. The WWE Women's Championship could change hands multiple times at SummerSlam 2024

This year's Mr. Money in the Bank may have already failed his cash-in, but Miss Money in the Bank hasn't. At the recently concluded Premium Live Event, Tiffany Stratton defeated Naomi, Chelsea Green, Iyo Sky, Zoey Stark, and Lyra Valkyria to claim the contract. Interestingly, the next person who is in line to challenge for the Women's title is Tiffany's friend Nia Jax.

Nia Jax was this year's Queen of the Ring tournament winner and now has a spot against Bayley at SummerSlam for the Women's Championship. It's possible that at the event Jax will win only to be betrayed by Stratton as the contract-holder could pretend to congratulate her, only to attack her from behind and cash in.

#1. LA Knight has yet to capture a WWE championship on the main roster

LA Knight officially transitioned from NXT to the main roster in January 2022, but he was first given the hard task of competing as Max Dupri and managing Maximum Male Models. Since reverting to The Megastar, he became a fan favorite and garnered admiration from fans and professionals alike.

Despite being one of the biggest names in the Stamford-based promotion today, he has yet to win a title on the brand. However, this could come quite soon as his feud with Logan Paul for the United States Championship could occur at WWE SummerSlam.
