Another B Block match that lived up to the lofty expectations set by the A Block in the G1 Climax 30 was Tetsuya Naito facing Zack Sabre Jr on Day 4. These two men have met in the past on a few occasions. They always seem to deliver an engaging contest. With the main event spot on this night in Sapporo, they delivered one of their best matches yet.
The extraordinary technical ability of ZSJ was somehow matched by the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champion. There were a lot of submissions and smooth transitions between the two in this G1 Climax 30 main event. The theme of Naito's G1 Climax 30 matches was established here with this contest pushing the thirty-minute time limit draw similar to his opening block match.

Zack Sabre Jr did not have the standout tournament that he had in his G1 debut two years ago. However, he can be proud of this encounter. This was unquestionably his best G1 Climax 30 match and one of the best for Naito.
