From the land of tall and short, we head straight into the world of Heavy wrestlers.Though there is a lot of criticism on the country about its citizens being bloated up, Professional wrestling is a field where heavy men always found a place. A lot of big giants have shaken the WWE ring with their sheer weight and these earth quaking behemoths were always in the mix of many exciting matches.The bigger they are the harder they fall quote was also applicable to these men as well despite their larger than life characters and maybe thats why most of them fell before getting to the top of the business.Truth being said, lets take a look at those men who were the superlatives from the list of superlatives.
#1 The Great Khali- 420 lbs (190.509 Kgs)
The Punjabi playboy is the first entrant of the list and none of the WWE fans doubt why Vince McMahon signed this guy in the first place.
A former WWE champion, Khali also has an acting career which spans across Bollywood and Hollywood. He has the history for serving the Police department back in India. The most memorable thing from Khali’s career would be his feud with Undertaker which also saw the invention of Punjabi Prison match.
Presently, Khali is kept idle most of the time by the WWE writers as they find no need in pushing a giant like him at the moment.
#2 Rikishi- 425 lbs (192.777 Kgs)
Hailing from the famed Anoa’i family, Rikishi was a wrestler who only went till the Intercontinental title but had feuds with many big names in the business.
He also had a great dancing gimmick which still is very much popular among the fans. a lovable giant, Rikishi made the stink face his signature move and was a multi time tag team champion as well. After a long spell at WWE, he went on the Indy circuit and made occasional appearances in WWE.
His legacy still reigns in the WWE in form of the Usos who are following their father’s path by being the hottest tag team in the promotion.
#3 King Kong Bundy- 446 lbs (202.302 Kgs)
A standup comedian and actor apart from Wrestling, King Kong Bundy was a main event player back in this time at WWE. Having high profile WrestleMania matches against Hulk Hogan and Undertaker under his resume, Bundy had the nickname “Walking Condominium”.
He also had a great feud with Andre The Giant which culminated in a colossal jostle at Madison Square Garden. He later left WWE had some independent wrestling before starting to concentrate on his acting career.
#4 Earthquake - 451 lbs (204.57 Kgs)
John Tenta started off his career as a sumo wrestler but soon realized that wrestling was more suited to him. He switched to WWE and went directly into a feud with Hulk Hogan.
Tenta broke Hogan’s ribs with his splash which proved to be the initiation of their feud.after that the two men went on a series of match with the last interaction coming at Royal Rumble 1991 were Hogan eliminated Tenta who was the runner up.
He is also remembered for giving a splash to Jake Robert’s pet snake. Tenta stayed in WWE till 2001 and died in 2004 due to multiple tumors in his body.
#5 Vader - 452 lbs (205.024 Kgs)
Don’t be fooled by his side because Vader had a move set that even John Cena couldn’t do. He could do moonsault and dropkicks with his enormous size and was equally thrilling in heel and face gimmicks.
Vader started off his career in Japan with NJPW but soon found his way into the WWE. He had feuds with Shawn Michaels and Undertaker. after this he had many small time feuds after which he left WWE and returned to Japan where he semi-retired.
#6 Giant Gonzales- 460 lbs (208.652 Kgs)
The tallest man to ever gaze a WWE ring, Gonzalez had his fair share of weight too. A former NBA draft pick before his Wrestling career, Gonzalez left the basketball career due to a knee injury.
He then took over the wrestling world with WCW and was soon picked up by WWE. His stay at WWE only lasted one year but he left giving a good feud with Undertaker which was capped by a bad match at WrestleMania.
He then had a one year stay at NJPW before leaving the wrestling business.
#7 Big Show- 485 lbs (219.992 Kgs)
A multi time ECW, WWE, and WCW champion, Big Show is simply the heaviest wrestler in the active roster now. He had many matches that made use of his big size.
The WrestleMania clash with Floyd Mayweather stands out in particular as both men were on different poles when it came to size. His feud with Rey Mysterio also deserves mention but the moment when the fans realized that Show is really heavy would be the ring breaking incident with Brock Lesnar.
It still remains as a top 50 moments in WWE history as the fans hadn’t witnessed anything like that in the past or the preset.
#8 Big Daddy V- 487 lbs (220.899 Kgs)
Mable, Viscera or Big Daddy V, whatever you call him, Nelson Frazier Jr. was a man known for his size. He started off his wrestling career in 1993 and had a great push which saw him become the King of the Ring.
After that his career graph went on a quick dip and he ended up in the mid card for rest of his Wrestling life. The relaunch of ECW gave him some limelight but it soon drew off and he was released.
He then had many independent booking before eventually submitting to the claws of death recently.
#9 Andre The Giant- 520 lbs. (235.868 Kgs)
The reason why Hulk Hogan slamming Andre the Giant became an epic moment had everything to do with Andre’s size.
Andre’s was a rare breed of giant who had a lot of charisma and face-heel performance to add with his above average in ring skills. He had a good spell in acting as well where he played the famous role of Fezzik the giant in the Princess Bride.
A historic figure in professional wrestling, Andre the Giant is arguably the biggest name on this list and died due to heart failure at an age of 46.
#10 Yokozuna- 621 lbs. (281.227 Kgs)
What could be bigger than Hogan slamming Andre the Giant? Well Hogan slamming Yokazuna, who was a clear 100 pound ahead of Andre.
Yokozuna entered WWE with his manager Mr. Fuji and had a great run which ended up in him winning the Royal Rumble. This set up a match against Bret Hart at WrestleMania for the title which Yokazuna won only to see Hogan get the title later that night.
He later had another great feud with Undertaker and many other main eventers before leaving the company in 2000. He died in the same year due to pulmonary edema and was the cousin of current WWE superstar Roman Reigns.
