6. The Powers of Pain join forces with Mister Fuji.
In the mid to late 1980s, The Road Warriors were the tag team - and they weren't in the WWF. They dominated both the AWA and the NWA with their intense, hard-hitting offence as well as their terrifying, Mad Max-inspired personas. Eventually, Hawk and Animal would end up working for Vince McMahon but, in the meantime, the Chairman would try and figure out how to capture their magic without them.
While Demolition - Ax and Smash (and others) - were a WWF creation, the Powers of Pain (Barbarian and Warlord) were actually rivals with the Road Warriors in the NWA. Eventually, though, both Demolition and the Powers found themselves in the WWF and facing each other.
During the 1988 Survivor Series, Demolition were the heel team managed by Fuji, while The Powers of Pain on the opposing team. However, The Powers joined forces with Fuji, following him getting knocked to the ground, turning the WWF-created Demolition face, and the Powers into the bad guys.
