Last October, then WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal challenged Brock Lesnar to a champion versus champion match at Survivor Series. Lesnar accepted and the match was on the table. However, fans were really excited for this match. Jinder wasn't near Brock's level, he was too easy an opponent for Lesnar to defeat.

Fans didn't like the prospect of watching two of the stalest champions fighting it out. However, just two weeks before the show, AJ Styles won the title from Jinder Mahal. The match was now changed to a dream contest between AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar.

Styles brought the best out of Lesnar. Styles came in as the under-dog and Lesnar decimated Styles in a gruesome scene. Styles made a heroic comeback towards the end of the match with fore-arms and strikes to the knee.

Styles locked in the Calf-Crusher and Lesnar sold the submission move greatly. Lesnar's counter to the Calf Crusher was brutal, he just slammed AJ's head to the mat three times. Styles persevered and hit a Phenomenal Fore-arm, but Lesnar kicked out. Just as Styles went for another one, Lesnar countered with an F5 for the win. The match was an instant classic.
