#1 Velveteen Dream
The current NXT North American Champion continued what Ricochet did before him, and face anyone and everyone. While Ricochet faced off against a returning Tyler Breeze, the Velveteen Dream followed up his excellent Takeover: New York bout against the former Cruiserweight and NXT Tag Team Champion, Buddy Murphy. The match was the first on the episode and delivered on dream level performances.
The Velveteen Dream continued from Ricochet's tradition in facing all comers, including competitors from outside of NXT, while Ricochet faced off against NXT UK's Pete Dunne and WWE's Tyler Breeze. Meanwhile, since defeating Johnny Gargano for the title, the Velveteen Dream has had two fantastic consecutive title defenses.
At times, Murphy looked like he was going to legitimately defeat Velveteen Dream for the belt, at one point hitting Tony Nese's finisher the Running Kneese. However, Dream fought back and after getting knocked out on the outside of the ring, the Velveteen Dream landed a Famasser on Murphy following it up with a Dream Valley Driver and a Purple Rainmaker to retain the title.
