Roman Reigns won the WWE World Title from Triple H at Wrestlemania 32. He then began a feud with the number one contender - AJ Styles. They faced off at Payback, but the match was marred by chaos and controversy.

Gallows and Anderson debuted in WWE, sided with AJ Styles and attacked Reigns. Reigns recruited the help of The Usos and an Extreme Rules match was scheduled between Reigns and Styles at Extreme Rules.

It was all out war. They fought all over the arena, and Reigns put Styles through numerous announce tables.

Styles performed numerous Phenomenal Fore-Arms on Reigns. Towards the end of the match, The Usos and The Club interfered to aid their respective allies. In the midst of the chaos, Reigns caught Styles with a massive mid air Spear for the win.
