One month after facing Mark Hunt at UFC 200, Brock Lesnar appeared on WWE RAW to promote his WWE SummerSlam 2016 match against Randy Orton.

WWE underwent a lot of on-screen changes during that period of time. The 2016 WWE Draft meant every active Superstar was assigned to RAW or SmackDown, with the only exception being Heath Slater.

Unlike Brock Lesnar, who moved to RAW as the No. 8 pick, the former 3MB member was not selected by RAW or SmackDown. This set up a storyline which saw Slater appear on both shows in an attempt to earn himself a WWE contract.

On the August 15, 2016 episode of RAW, Slater revealed that he had been granted an opportunity to become a member of the RAW roster. All he had to do was defeat the one and only Brock Lesnar.

Slater even took the bold approach of interrupting an in-ring promo involving Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. He explained that he needed a job in WWE because he has kids who depend on him.

It looked as though Slater’s plea had earned him sympathy from Brock Lesnar, who replied:

“Woah, woah, woah. I got kids too, man. Come on in here. I feel you. Let’s talk about your kids.”

Slater then stepped through the ropes and stood face-to-face with Brock Lesnar. However, The Beast’s next line is probably not what he hoped for:

“I don’t give a s*** about your kids. You got two choices right here. One, you walk out here on your own two feet. Two, you can stand there and keep p***ing me off.”

After choosing option two, Brock Lesnar took Slater to Suplex City before hitting him with an F-5.
