The match was very physical from the start as Charlotte delivered huge chops in the corner. Rhea Ripley responded by delivering the RipTide very early on but Charlotte kicked out. Charlotte took control as she avoided a boot and draped Ripley's leg on the top rope. This is where match moved into Charlotte's favor as she targeted Ripley's leg.

Ripley refused to quit as she delivered a missile dropkick for a two count. Charlotte ducked a boot and delivered a chop block to Ripley's injured leg. Charlotte applied the Boston Crab but Ripley countered by applying an inverted Texas Cloverleaf. Charlotte blocked a Superplex as she went for her moonsault but Ripley got her boot up. Charlotte caught Ripley charging and delivered a spear for a two count.

Charlotte went for the Figure-4-Leg Lock but Ripley countered into an inside cradle for a two count. Charlotte went back to the Figure-4-Leg-Lock and then bridged into a Figure-8-Leg Lock as Ripley tapped. A very solid match as Ripley came off as a star despite the loss. Charlotte winning was good as she can bring more star presence to NXT.
