#4 Jeff Hardy destroys Joey Mercury's face (WWE Armageddon 2006)
The WWE Tag Team Championship match at Armageddon 2006 is often discussed for the infamous injury that occurred during it.
The pay-per-view was originally scheduled to have WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick defending the titles against William Regal and Dave Taylor. However, before the match could begin, SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long announced some changes.

Long announced the match would now be a Fatal Four-Way ladder match for the WWE Tag Team Championships. He also revealed the remaining two teams to be added to the match would be The Hardy Boyz and MnM.
After a fast-paced start to the match, The Hardy Boyz set up their traditional seesaw ladder spot. Matt Hardy held Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury's faces above the ladder, which was violently seesawed by Jeff Hardy.
The ladders smashed into the faces of both Mercury and Nitro, causing a legitimate broken nose and orbital bone for the former. He was forced to immediately leave the match and be rushed to the nearest emergency room. The injury was so severe that Mercury was forced to receive more than 30 stitches.
