#2. Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat wins the Intercontinental Title
Ricky Steamboat was a beloved wrestler by the fans of the World Wrestling Federation and had one of the best matches of the first two WrestleMania events. However, the Steamboat versus Savage match at WrestleMania III is undoubtedly the best of the three, and many consider it as so ahead of its time, so much so that it still stands up today in the modern era of wrestling.
Savage came into WrestleMania as the Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion and had made his first WrestleMania appearance the previous year against George 'The Animal' Steel. Steel was again involved in Savage's WrestleMania III contest against Steamboat, in the Dragon's corner.
The two battled it out both inside and outside of the ring for just shy of 15 minutes, with Savage trying to use the ring bell, a callback to the way Savage had injured Steamboat previously.
Steamboat would counter Savage's attempted body slam into a small package for the three-count. Steamboat's victory and subsequent title victory would be his first and only title win during his time with the WWF.
