This 2002 match of the year featured 4 of the then "Smackdown Six". It was the finals of the tag team tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Tag Team Champions, following the first historic brand split. Mysterio had joined forces with Edge, who at the time had been looking for a new partner.

Angle and Benoit had somehow made it to the finals after being at odds with each other for months. The match started off slowly but built into a blistering final 10 minutes and featured amazing sequences. The match is a perfect example of the brilliant in-ring work on Smackdown at the time. This may be the best tag team match in WWE history.
