John Cena has remained as the poster boy of the WWE for the past 10 years. He has provided us with some great entertainment and has to be respected for that. He has remained as a top draw with whom WWE could easily rely on and has successfully generated a huge fan base along with some substantial profits.
However, Cena has off late showed some cracks in his fitness. In his recent promos, he has hinted about the next generation stepping up and how they would prove themselves after going over Cena. His groin injury is latest in line from the series of injuries. His triceps tear after Summerslam, took him out of action for some while, cementing Daniel Bryan as the main event star of the company.
The groin injury whether it is a work or real, certainly suggests that Cena needs a successor to his throne, which Bray Wyatt termed as a hollow one on Last week Monday night Raw.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Here in this article we look at 5 superstars who can entertain us in the future as the face of WWE, becoming successful for the company and getting the main event spot which they richly and truly deserve.
Dolph Ziggler is a guy who has seen his decent share of ups and downs. Ziggler is as charismatic a superstar as anyone in the main roster of WWE today. Ziggler is easily one of the most talented superstar in the ring currently. He is in a rare list of stars that can make any other superstar look good.
The pops that he receives on his entrance does suggest that he has done a good job in getting over as a superstar which the people want to see. He has a history with the titles as he has won the major titles barring the WWE championship in the past. Ziggler has the looks and the build as well and he is good on the microphone which helps him cut some decent promos.
How much Ziggler can perform as the top draw can only be judged if he does get a push like the topmost face of the company. He does have the talent to be one.
4. Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins, the architect of the Shield, is a great athlete. He can do some brilliant moves and draws audience through his in ring skills and his microphone skills. The first ever NXT Champion, his moves and high flying antics draws him as a standout performer. More than all of that, Seth also seems to have the build, though he is mostly over shadowed in that department by Roman Reigns of the Shield, he is certainly developing his looks.
He has the goods and the confidence along with the agility to perform on the big stage. It would be intriguing to see how the shield splits and how Seth is booked as the top draw.
3. Cesaro
Cesaro is the best import of the WWE for a long long time. He has the build, the skills, confidence and is a natural wrestler by the looks of it. Cesaro can bring the crowd to its feet by his performances. His uppercut and swings make him a mark out performer. He does need a manager to hold onto, but his other attributes certainly helps to overshadow that aspect of his.
Lately, Cesaro has been getting some good amount of push. He has been developed to look as a bright prospect. Just how far he goes is the question. A lot would also depend on Zeb Colter, or whomsoever is his manager in the future. The Real Americans split seems imminent. And it should take Cesaro to a new level.
2. Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns has had the biggest push since a long time. He was first promoted as the muscle behind the hounds of justice but now he sees himself on the brink of the main event scene. The WWE Creative team seems to have a lot of confidence in him. Roman has a lot of moves and his spear as well as the superman punch seems to get over with the crowd. He is projected as the man who has suppressed attitude and a lot of aggression.
Reigns seems like the answer to the next babyface of the WWE. He comes from a wrestling family, something which WWE values, and has the right build and the right looks. However, how he fares outside of shield as a singles star remains to be seen.
1. Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan is the most popular superstar since probably The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. His Yes! Chants are louder than anything which has been heard in the arena for a while. In terms of popularity he is already the face of the WWE. In terms of in ring ability, no one in the current roster seems close to what Bryan used to do a couple of months ago.
However, Bryan does have his drawbacks. His mic skills leave much to be desired. His build is not one which Cena, Rock, Hogan or any other topmost baby face had. HBK was a glaring exception, but he was appropriately booked back then. The booking which Bryan has got till now has been horrendous. It would need some great WrestleMania moments coupled with some talented work of Daniel Bryan to put him back on track as the top baby face of the company.
