As 2018 has officially begun, there's no doubt that we may see some major change in WWE. As WrestleMania 34 is on the horizon, many anticipate what this year will bring to the table.

Whether it will be new wrestlers who will be pushed ahead or any storylines that could get fans invested in, here are the top 5 predictions that may happen in 2018.

#5 Randy Orton turns heel

Randy Orton has been playing the side-kick for a long time now

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Since his feud with the Wyatt family which ended a little bit after WrestleMania 33, Randy Orton, for the most part, hasn't really been involved in interesting storylines. Many opine that since his feud with Jinder Mahal last summer, he hasn't really done anything relevant for a lot of people to get invested in.

While it's possible he may get drafted to Raw this year, WWE could also make him the solo-heel that he once was. Over the past few years, it seems WWE has run out of enough ideas for Orton to execute, due to the fact that he's been with the company for more than 12 years. However, a heel turn without relying on any faction may rejuvenate his career.

#4 John Cena winning his 17th world title win

John Cena has little left to achieve in WWE

As John Cena looks to take on a part-time role in WWE, it may seem that there's nothing much left for him to do at this point besides holding the record of most world title wins.

While there's high doubt he will be turning heel anytime soon despite no longer being recognized as the face of WWE, there's a good possibility of him taking home the gold for one last time. WWE has always loved serving surprises and with WrestleMania 34 around the corner, John Cena may well and truly get his chance.

#3 Brock Lesnar signing an extension with WWE

There's much speculation surrounding Brock Lesnar's contract with WWE

While it's been rumored that Brock Lesnar may be intending to head back into MMA once his contract expires with WWE this year, Lesnar will probably not be choosing to leave. He may be motivated to get back into the octagon, but also noteworthy is the amount of money Lesnar has been making with WWE despite wrestling on a part-time basis.

Now that Lesnar is turning 41 this summer, he may feel his age would eventually catch up to him while competing in MMA again. Nevertheless, the contract that WWE are willing to offer Lesnar will have a huge impact on his decision.

#2 Braun Strowman winning his first world title

Braun Strowman enjoys a cult following in the WWE

Braun Strowman may be one of WWE's best home-grown superstars in the past few years. Since breaking away from the Wyatt Family, Strowman has become massively popular with fans due to his "larger than life" persona and his wrestling ability as a big superstar.

Now that Strowman is booked as a baby-face and given the popularity he's maintained, WWE could have him win the big one as the year goes by. This is their chance to capitalize on the huge potential that Braun Strowman has.

#1 Ronda Rousey signing with WWE

Ronda Rousey has long been linked with a move to WWE

It's been heavily rumored that former UFC fighter Ronda Rousey may be signing with WWE and would even make an appearance at this year's Women's Royal Rumble Match later this month.

While an appearance for the rumble may or may not happen, it looks as if this will be the year that Rousey will be joining the WWE due to her star power and WWE's investment in pushing the women's division. While it's unknown if she'll ever make a return to MMA, WWE may have big plans to utilize her now that WrestleMania is coming up.
