Nothing invests the WWE Universe into a storyline more than a popular babyface turning heel. After all, the crowd invests their energy and emotions into cheering for a particular superstar, but when they turn heel, the backlash they receive is unreal.

On Monday Night RAW, a popular babyface could soon turn heel and receive this backlash. The popular babyface in question is former Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn. On last week's RAW, Zayn beat Gunther's Imperium teammate Ludwig Kaiser, but the World Heavyweight Champion denied him a shot at the title once again.

The only reason why Gunther is probably denying him is because Sami Zayn beat Gunther at WrestleMania 40 for the Intercontinental Title. Regardless, on RAW, Triple H could book an angle in which Zayn could finally face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.

However, the Canadian superstar could be booked to lose this match due to a potential interference from Ludwig Kaiser. This entire scenario could make Sami Zayn realize that being good has not helped him. He could also start raising questions about where Jey Uso was when he needed him.

These questions could eventually lead to Zayn attacking Jey and feuding with him for the Intercontinental Championship. While speculative, the angle works well because if WWE wants to project Jey as a strong champion, putting him in a feud with the Canadian could prove to be a great idea.

Ex-WWE employee questioned Sami Zayn's claim to a World Heavyweight Championship match

Since Gunther beat Randy Orton at WWE Bash in Berlin to retain the World Heavyweight Championship, Sami Zayn has been continuously trying to get a title shot. Bret Hart, too, was involved in the feud as he looked to improve Zayn's chances of getting a match, but it didn't work as Gunther has yet to accept his challenge.

Recently, an ex-WWE employee raised questions about Sami Zayn's claim to a World Heavyweight Championship match. During an episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo questioned how Zayn could go from losing the Intercontinental Championship to fighting for the World Heavyweight Title.

Vince Russo said:

"You just lost the Intercontinental Title to Bron Breakker. So how do you lose the Intercontinental Title but now you're gonna get a shot at a title that's on a higher level when you couldn't keep the title below it? None of that makes any sense whatsoever. I guess this show only makes sense to the built-in marks that watch it." [9:37 onwards]

While Russo's claim does make sense, as mentioned above, Zayn dethroned Gunther when the latter was the Intercontinental Champion. Hence, if Zayn does get a World Heavyweight Title shot against Gunther, it will be interesting to see if he can repeat what he did at WrestleMania 40.
