WWE had plans of taking away the WWE championship from Dean Ambrose. Either Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins was scheduled to win the championship from Ambrose at Battleground which in turn would have set up a Reigns vs. Rollins match for SummerSlam. This plan has apparently changed due to the Reigns situation.
Also, don’t expect Battleground to be a great show as WWE is only seeing it as a build up to SummerSlam which means that all the big moments will be saved for the latter rather than playing out in the former.
