Roman Reigns has returned to WWE SmackDown to get revenge on Solo Sikoa for taking over The Bloodline. The Original Tribal Chief is currently going it alone against Sikoa and his cronies, and that's not surprising, given the amount of enemies he's made over the years.

However, one star who could join forces with Reigns on the blue brand is AJ Styles. The Phenomenal One has had his issues with The Bloodline but not predominantly against The Head of the Table. He could turn babyface and continue his revenge story by targeting Solo Sikoa.

AJ Styles was expected to return on last week's WWE SmackDown, but creative seemingly changed plans. There is no word on what the two-time WWE Champion's storyline will be when he returns. He was a heel before a recent hiatus that saw him travel to Japan for a tour.

The legendary former TNA star returned in December 2023 after a short break of two months due to injuries caused by an attack by The Bloodline. He helped LA Knight and Randy Orton fend off The Bloodline upon his return. He turned heel on Knight once the stable scampered down the aisle. Styles targeted Knight because he replaced him in a tag match with John Cena against Sikoa and Jimmy Uso at Fastlane last year.

How ironic would it be for him to come back to WWE SmackDown and turn face to help Roman Reigns fight Sikoa's version of the faction? The 47-year-old isn't getting any younger, and he recently faked a retirement, but that ultimately raised more questions about his long-term future. He could have one last main event run and help Reigns, with whom he has an interesting past.

AJ Styles may genuinely feel like he owes Roman Reigns one ahead of his WWE SmackDown return

AJ Styles' last appearance in a WWE ring saw him lose to Cody Rhodes in an 'I Quit' match at Clash at the Castle (June 15). He's since not been on TV, and that lengthy spell out of the sight of fans could be building towards a hero's return on WWE SmackDown.

Roman Reigns knows all about turning babyface when making a blockbuster return. He did so at SummerSlam, costing Solo Sikoa the Undisputed WWE Championship against former foe Cody Rhodes.

Styles and Reigns have only met one another in the ring a handful of times, but it's been magic every time. That includes stellar matches for the world title at Payback and Extreme Rules back in 2016.

The Face that Runs The Place acknowledged those encounters with The Head of the Table in 2020. He praised the former Shield member and highlighted how he helped his career.

"Roman is such a huge star. It only got better from there when I had the opportunity to get in the ring with Roman, one of the pay-per-views, actually a couple of pay-per-views, I think. When I’ve got a title opportunity, it was against Roman Reigns. Unbelievable match. I’ve watched it back. Wow. I can’t believe we did all this stuff that was really good. So, yeah, Roman Reigns is a big part of the reason why my career’s where it’s at." [H/T - FightFul Select].

That respect could come into play when Roman Reigns needs backup to take down Solo Sikoa's Bloodline on WWE SmackDown. Many will expect Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, or Sami Zayn, but Styles could make a phenomenal return to help The OTC.
