With only two more RAWs left until the biggest event of the summer and an almost complete card, SummerSlam looks like a promising PPV to say the least. WWE‘s presumption of SummerSlam being the second biggest PPV of the year is making sense, courtesy of some huge matches on the card.
For the past few weeks, WWE has concentrated on building up the WWE Title match and the Best vs the Beast match between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar. It is now expected that WWE will announce the complete match card on RAW tonight and work towards building a strong card for the event especially after a poor showing last week.
Let us now look at wrestlers who are gaining momentum and are expected to make impression on RAW tonight.
1. Daniel Bryan
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Daniel Bryan came out victorious after a verbal joust last week with the boss himself. Vince McMahon made it clear that he didn’t consider Bryan worthy of the title, but Bryan, with the support of the fans, managed to get the final say last week.
Week in and week out, Bryan has given us stellar performances, with the gauntlet match being the most memorable. His match against Cesaro still remains as fresh as ever. One has to agree that Bryan has worked his way up to where he is right now. The deafening ‘YES’ chants every time Bryan walks down the ramp is reason enough to accept that he is the hottest superstar to look out for on tonight’s RAW.
2. Brock Lesnar
There is news doing rounds that Lesnar has been scheduled for tonight’s RAW. Apart from being a great news for fans, it must come as a relief for Punk and the creative team as his absence has caused their feud to go cold. Lesnar has a limited schedule which is keeping him from making regular appearances, but WWE has to keep the feud hot and happening which isn’t possible without Lesnar.
Lesnar making an appearance tonight will bring back the needed life into the Punk-Lesnar rivalry. Punk, for the past two weeks, has had no one but himself to talk to, causing a slight disinterest among fans. With Lesnar back, expect some real heat from the Beast as he looks to inflict pain on Punk. Punk attacked Curtis Axel and nearly got hold of Heyman last week which has given him the upper hand in the feud at the moment.
3. Christian
Christian’s hot and raring to go after beating Randy Orton and RVD last week on SmackDown. He’s had quite a roll after Money in the Bank as he has managed to remain unbeaten from then. He has been fluent inside the ring and has managed to give us enjoyable matches every time he has been in it.
After beating the likes of Swagger and Titus O’Neil, Christian managed to impress one and all after beating Alberto Del Rio last week. With impressive victories under his belt, expect Christian to make an impact on RAW and pay Del Rio back for the sneak attack last week on SmackDown.
4. Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes gained spotlight after the Gulf of Mexico fiasco with Sandow. The former friends and tag partners are having one of the best feuds of their career and Rhodes has been making the most use of it.
Rhodes has excelled extremely well as a babyface, despite many not expecting him to do well. Most people were looking at Sandow and his growth as a heel, but Rhodes has turned heads as he has improved a great deal compared to Sandow. His character is gaining greater relevance with time and this is a great sign for his future. With Sandow getting a say on SmackDown last week after a cheap attack on Rhodes, let us see what Mr. Dashing has in store for his former best friend.
