Welcome to yet another edition of the WWE RAW News Roundup that could significantly impact the brand's future. Today we will look at some intriguing topics revolving around superstars like former WWE Champion Sheamus, Becky Lynch, and Liv Morgan.
Becky Lynch's last match in WWE took place on RAW a few months ago in May, where she lost to Liv Morgan in a steel cage match. Lynch did not renew her contract with the company and remains a free agent. We will discuss this, among other interesting topics from RAW:
#1. Sam Roberts believes Becky Lynch is officially retired
Top WWE star blasted, compared to Winnie the Pooh RIGHT HERE
Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts suggested that the current version of The Judgment Day might be underrated, though the group has been dominating Monday nights lately. He also highlighted Liv Morgan's recent accomplishments, especially her notable feat of retiring Becky Lynch.
"I mean, rocking and rolling. You can say whatever you want about this Judgment Day and they do [what they're supposed to do and when they're supposed to do it, everytime]. Who retired Becky Lynch? Who beat Rhea Ripley for the women's championship? And everybody's falling in line,'' said Roberts.
Though fans are hoping that Becky Lynch returns soon, there has been no word on the former RAW Women's Champion's return. With Rhea Ripley also out of action, the women's division on the red brand needs top names and now would be the perfect time for her to return.
#2. RAW Superstar Sheamus comments on dealing with severe injury
On the Celtic Warrior Workouts YouTube channel, former WWE Champion Sheamus spoke to fellow legend Randy Orton about his injuries. Sheamus recounted how he would often call Orton when he was recovering from a severe neck injury. The Irish star was out of action for eight months due to neck issues:
"When I was going through my neck stuff I was calling you and texting you. Normally I'm the type of guy who goes in, gotta get it [surgery] done once, one and done, and then it was a different thing for me because it took me so much longer. Then I went down and I bumped [practiced in a wrestling ring] and I kept getting stingers, so eventually it went away," he said.
Sheamus returned to RAW earlier this year and has become a staple of the show. He has feuded with upcoming stars like Pete Dunne and Ludwig Kaiser since his return and seems to have been put in the 'gatekeeper' role on RAW.
#3. Two-time 24/7 Champion Tucker has retired from wrestling
Sportskeeda's Dr. Chris Featherstone spoke to former 24/7 Champion and Otis' tag team partner Tucker, who revealed that he has retired from in-ring competition. Tucker was let go of by the company in 2021 but continued to compete for DEFY Wrestling. However, his last match took place on June 24, 2023.
''I just spoke with former WWE star Tucker of fka Heavy Machinery. He said that he has retired from professional wrestling and does not plan to return. He currently is a high school wrestling coach & raising his two kids. Best wishes,'' wrote Featherstone.
Though he spent the majority of his career as part of the team, Heavy Machinery, along with Otis, the two were separated during the 2020 Draft when Tucker was drafted to RAW while Otis went to SmackDown. While Otis began receiving a singles push, Tucker was sporadically used and eventually let go.
