WWE NXT under Shawn Michaels has reached unprecedented heights. Week after week, the former black-and-gold brand is putting up amazing episodes which often leads to fans comparing the brand to top shows like RAW and SmackDown. It's clear that Michaels has worked his magic on the young roster.
Similarly, The Heartbreak Kid could now groom a top WWE SmackDown star's son and potentially make him the next big thing in the Stamford-based promotion. The top star's son in question is Kevin Owens' 18-year-old son, Owen.
In this article, we will take a look at why Owens' son could make a potential debut under Shawn Michaels on NXT.

WWE Superstar Kevin Owens' son entered the ring for the first time
During an appearance on NHL Now, Kevin Owens revealed his son Owen stepped into a professional wrestling ring for the first time. Owen, 18, stepped into the ring at the Performance Center, which his dad believes is the best place one can start training.
Hence, even though it may be too soon, Owen can be groomed into something big at the Performance Center. After all, the WWE PC is known for its state-of-the-art facilities, and it has produced some of the greatest wrestlers in the business today.
At 6ft 8in, Owen could be the next big thing in WWE
Even though Owen has stepped into the ring for the first time, physically he might already have what it takes to succeed in professional wrestling. For those unaware, KO's son is 6ft 8in tall, and his towering presence could be used to a great effect in the Triple H-led promotion.
Also, by training at the Performance Center and being on NXT, Owen will have the chance to learn under a wrestling veteran like Shawn Michaels. Learning from The Heartbreak Kid could make the youngster a very successful professional wrestler.
WWE will benefit creatively from Owen
The one benefit WWE can have from grooming Owen and potentially signing him is the fact that they can creatively present him in many different ways. For example, Dominik Mysterio and his father Rey Mysterio were together before they eventually feuded.
The Rey - Dominik saga was enjoyed by many professional wrestling fans. Similarly, due to the involvement of Kevin Owens, the promotion could create interesting storylines between the father and son. Involving someone like Sami Zayn is also an option.
In the coming years, it will be interesting to see if the Stamford-based promotion does end up signing Owen. Until then, fans will be keen on seeing how his father Kevin Owens holds up against The Bloodline on SmackDown.
