Top WWE Superstar to be stripped of his championship after publicly calling out The Rock? Possible punishment explored

The Rock recently made a comeback to WWE RAW and NXT. While he had a great time on both the red and the developmental brand, a newly crowned champion has called out The High Chief for stealing his spotlight. Oba Femi even sent a threat to The Brahma Bull and could potentially be stripped of his NXT Championship because of this.

The Ruler faced Trick Williams and Eddie Thorpe in a Triple Threat match for the NXT Championship on January 7. This was the main event of the night and Oba Femi relished winning the top title on the brand. However, after Femi exited the arena, The Rock came to deliver a promo and sent the crowd home. This wasn’t liked by the newly crowned champ.

Speaking in an interview with Bully Ray on the Busted Open podcast, the NXT Champion said that The Final Boss stole time from him. He also noted that he wasn’t informed that The Rock was scheduled to go after him and he would have problems with him if it happened again.

"At the moment the time was being stolen from me, I wasn’t even aware it was being stolen from me. Maybe if I knew, I would have gone up to him and been like, ‘Hey, Uncle Dwayne, what are you doing?’ I’ll let it slide this time. But the next time Uncle Dwayne comes in and steals time from me, there’s going to be problems," Femi said. [H/T - SEScoops]

While Femi has become the NXT Champion, he is forgetting that The Brahma Bull isn’t just a strong and experienced wrestler, but is also on the Board of Directors of the TKO Holdings Group.

Owing to this unnecessary insult, there’s a chance that The High Chief could ask Shawn Michaels to strip the gold off The Ruler’s shoulders. Although this is a possible direction the story can take, all of this is speculation so far.

The Rock may bring back the character of The Final Boss

The Rock came back to WWE as a babyface despite a reign of terror as The Final Boss during the buildup to and at WrestleMania XL. Many fans didn’t expect this sudden change of heart from The Brahma Bull. However, there is a chance that this could be a ploy and The Final Boss may come back anytime soon.

Although The People’s Champ put the Ula Fala around the neck of Roman Reigns, the moment carried tangible tension between the two stars. Additionally, The OTC has now become a direct competitor to The Brahma Bull’s authority as The High Chief of Samoa.

Thus, The Final Boss could return and stop Reigns from getting too big for his boots by denying him the chance to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. The Rock could achieve this by sabotaging The OTC’s Royal Rumble run.

The Rock could also help Kevin Owens win the ladder match against Cody Rhodes at the Royal Rumble for the Undisputed WWE Championship. This would open the door for The Final Boss to face The American Nightmare at WrestleMania 41.

Since this would then be a non-title match, WWE can keep the fans guessing who would win the match till the end. It would be interesting to see what plan The Final Boss has for the future.
