WWE is rich with several exciting, fan-favorite, and long-lived tag teams across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. However, breaking up is always on the horizon for every team in the pro wrestling business, and it looks like The Street Profits is not immune to a possible split soon.
The Street Profits first burst into the WWE scene as part of the NXT roster in 2016 and finally debuted on the main roster in 2019 by joining the RAW roster. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford have since achieved success, winning the Tag Team Championship across all three brands. However, they haven't had the best run on the blue brand lately, and recently, Ford has expressed frustrations over this.
While speaking to Daily Mail, Montez Ford admitted being at a crossroads in his career. He even hinted about a potential break-up of The Street Profits, stating he was looking at signs that maybe it was time to adjust mindsets, and hinted at getting rid of people.
"I'm looking at the universe, I'm looking at the signs. Is it time to adjust to a new era, a new mode, a new mindset, or do I need to start getting rid of people?"
From the looks of it, Montez is the one who is more likely to break up the group by betraying his longtime tag team partner. Ford has had more success as a solo star and already has fans and professionals wanting to see him have a singles run.
Since the duo haven't had much success lately as a tag team, splitting up may be an angle the company may want to try and explore soon.
Are Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins open to splitting up in WWE?
Given how long they have been together, it's hard for tag teams to break up in the Stamford-based promotion, especially ones like The Street Profits. Although they still have goals as a team, they aren't that opposed to splitting up.
In an interview with Going Ringside in May 2024, Montez shared that they still have a lot to achieve as a tag team, but if the opportunity arises for them to pursue their different paths in WWE, they will take it.
"I feel like for myself and Dawkins, we have so much that we're still trying to obtain as a tag team," Ford said. "But I will say, if that opportunity happens, and we just spoke of when it comes to the draft, myself could be drafted to one show, he could be drafted to one show, so we both always talk about if the opportunity presents itself, like we're going."
It remains to be seen if The Street Profits will remain a duo or if their partnership will end soon in WWE.
