WWE CCO Triple H unveiled the next big superstar on Monday Night RAW. Renowned Mexican wrestler Penta made his highly anticipated debut against Chad Gable tonight. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion defeated Gable fair and square in his first match in the promotion.
However, Penta, who has mostly wrestled with his brother, Rey Fenix, as part of the Lucha Bros faction, will be a singles superstar for the time being until his brother potentially arrives at the Stamford-based promotion as well.
Therefore, Triple H might bring in a WWE veteran after 13 years and make him Penta's new manager. He is Armando Estrada, former manager of late WWE legend Edi Fatu (Umaga). The Stamford-based promotion recently signed Estrada for a five-year Legends deal. As part of the deal, he will be making special appearances in the company.
The 46-year-old first signed with the Stamford-based promotion in 2004, but he rose to fame in 2006 when he arrived as the manager of Umaga.
He was also the General Manager of ECW for some time before his release in 2008. Although he returned to the promotion from 2010 to 2012, he wasn't used much on television. He was released for the second time in 2012. After a brief run in independent wrestling, Estrada quit wrestling.
However, Estrada hasn't made any appearance in WWE since signing the Legends deal in September last year. He could now be called in to serve as Penta's official manager. Although Estrada was a heel manager, he could return as a face.
Armando Estrada could pitch Penta's match with Rey Mysterio at WWE WrestleMania 41
Penta is touted to be the next big thing from Lucha Libre wrestling after Rey Mysterio in WWE. In fact, he has wrestled Mysterio at Lucha Libre AAA and also squared off against Richochet.
Armando Estrada, if he becomes the manager of Penta, might challenge Rey Mysterio to face Penta at WrestleMania 41 to determine who is the greatest between them. Rey Mysterio, who is in the last leg of his career, may accept the challenge, put Penta over, and finally retire from the big stage.
So far, the company has invested in other Mexican wrestlers besides Rey, such as Sin Cara, Dragon Lee, Andrade, and Santos Escobar. However, none of them has achieved the heights and popularity of Mysterio. Penta could be the company's best bet. It remains to be seen how soon Triple H will bring Penta and Mysterio face-to-face.
