After the success of the RAW's premiere on Netflix, Triple H and the rest of WWE Creative are preparing for the first premium live event of 2025, the Royal Rumble, which will take place in Indianapolis on February 1.

John Cena (his last Royal Rumble appearance) and CM Punk will be there, while Cody Rhodes will put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Kevin Owens. However, the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble Matches are going to main event the show, and Triple H could bring back a former WWE champion as a surprise entrant in the Women's Rumble Match.

This former champion is Roxanne Perez, who lost her NXT Women's Championship to Giulia at New Year's Evil on Tuesday. Perez dropped the title, and it appears that she is now preparing for her move to the main roster. The Prodigy appeared on the red brand on the RAW after 'Mania back in April, just days after becoming the NXT Women's Champion.

Whether Triple H will bring her to RAW or SmackDown remains to be seen, but the Women's Royal Rumble Match looks like the perfect opportunity for her to return to the main roster.

Triple H says SmackDown will return to a two-hour format down the road

RAW's move to Netflix brought the red brand back to its three-hour format after a few months of a two-hour format. Likewise, SmackDown moved to a three-hour format from January 3 onward, but this is not expected to last forever.

Instead, during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Triple H said that the blue brand would return to a two-hour format in the future. WrestleVotes reports that this should happen after WrestleMania 41 and around June.

"Yes, for right now [it remains three hours], and then it switches back to two [hours]," the WWE CCO said. [h/t Wrestling Inc.]

More details about the return to the two-hour format should become public going forward, but for now, SmackDown fans will watch the new Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton this Friday, a week after she successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Nia Jax.
