Triple H and WWE have booked several title matches for SummerSlam, which is set to take place in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 3. One of them will see Logan Paul put his United States Championship on the line against LA Knight.
WWE teased the match for several weeks and made it official last Friday when Logan Paul signed the contract. The feud between the two megastars peaked after Money in the Bank; thus, a match at SummerSlam was a no-brainer.
Even though Logan Paul has done a great job as a champion, WWE CCO Triple H should consider having LA Knight win the match and become the new US champion.
LA Knight has maintained his status as a fan-favorite
LA Knight is considered one of the best wrestlers in WWE. He has become a fan favorite, and the crowd gives him a standing ovation when he appears on SmackDown and premium live events.
Thus, making him the US champion would further solidify his place as a fan-favorite in contrast with Logan Paul, who continues to get booed even though he has done a great job as a heel.
He will be a fighting champion
Since Logan Paul became the US Champion at the Crown Jewel PLE, he has defended his title very few times.
Paul mostly defended the title at specific premium live events, like the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, and his part-time status is not what fans want.
Thus, having LA Knight claim the US Title will make him a fighting champion, and he would defend the championship more often than the reigning champion.
LA Knight has to become the WWE United States Champion after 2023 failure
2023 was an excellent year for LA Knight, as he got a significant push that made him a fan favorite and gave him the opportunity to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
At the same time, Knight had the chance to become the US Champion on multiple occasions but lost to then-champions Rey Mysterio and Austin Theory, respectively.
Thus, after what happened in 2023, it would make sense to have LA Knight redeem himself by defeating Logan Paul and becoming the United States Champion for the first time in his career.
