Triple H to give WWE Superstar an ultimatum, forcing him to relinquish title next week? Potential twist explored

With Saturday Night's Main Event less than 10 days away, WWE has wasted no time in building up a premium live event-esque match card. One of the matches announced for the special show will be for the World Heavyweight Championship between Gunther (c) and Finn Balor.

At Survivor Series: WarGames, the Irishman helped The Ring General beat The Archer of Infamy in a rematch from SummerSlam. This marked the second time Balor cost Priest the title match.

The following night on RAW, Finn Balor launched a brutal attack on Gunther after the Imperium leader made the short work of Dominik Mysterio. Moments later, Adam Pearce granted Finn Balor a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Gunther's request.

Interestingly, the RAW General Manager also said that he and Balor need to discuss his other title match, referring to his WWE World Tag Team Championship. In recent weeks, the Irishman has shifted his focus to Damian Priest and the World Heavyweight Title instead of defending his own belt.

Considering that Finn Balor and JD McDonagh might refuse to defend their titles at Saturday Night's Main Event it might force Adam Pearce to give The Judgment Day members an ultimatum on the orders of Triple H.

The management could ask Balor and McDonagh to vacate their Tag Team Championship if The Prince wants to face Gunther at Saturday Night's Main Event. With Balor's lack of interest in the tag team division, The Judgment Day members could decide to vacate the titles on RAW next week. The duo have barely defended their World Tag Team Championship, which is why it would be in everybody's best interest if they were to vacate their titles.

Bear in mind that this is just a mere speculation at the moment. But the aforementioned scenario is within the realm of possibility. Fans should tune into RAW next Monday to find out what happens with the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

Will Finn Balor win the WWE World Heavyweight Title?

Finn Balor hasn't held a World Title since 2016. He became the inaugural Universal Champion but had to relinquish the title the very next day due to a shoulder injury. Since then, he has been stuck in the upper mid-card division. However, that could change in 2025.

According to WrestleVotes via Backstage Pass, the Irishman is expected to receive a singles push next year.

"As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Finn Balor in WWE, sources tell us he’s solidified himself as a true locker room leader over the past year or so. In addition, we are told to expect a sustained singles push for Finn as we head into 2025."

Whether or not that includes a World Title run remains to be seen.
