WWE is firing on all cylinders right now, doing record business, and consistently selling out arenas. One of the key reasons for this success is the creative turnaround that has occurred since Triple H took over as Head of Creative.
Not only have the weekly shows improved, but the storylines have also become more coherent and logical. However, despite all the positives, Triple H is making one major mistake —underutilizing some of the most popular stars, like AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura.
According to Fightful Select, both Styles and Nakamura are healthy but haven't been featured on TV recently.

AJ Styles had a promising start to 2024
After a couple of lackluster years marked by injuries and inconsistent booking, AJ Styles had an impressive resurgence in 2024. He began the year by feuding with LA Knight on the road to WrestleMania XL. Following 'Mania, Styles quickly entered a high-profile feud with Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
His last appearance came at Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event, where he lost to The American Nightmare in a grueling "I Quit" match. Styles' popularity was evident as he received loud reactions at WWE Backlash and throughout the European tour. Hence, it is baffling that Triple H currently has no creative plans for him on SmackDown.
Shinsuke Nakamura was drafted to SmackDown
Shinsuke Nakamura's last television appearance was about five months ago in a match against Sheamus on Monday Night RAW. He was later drafted to Friday Night SmackDown but has not been featured.
Though Nakamura regularly competes in house shows against top stars like Cody Rhodes and LA Knight, the company currently seems to lack a creative direction for him. Triple H needs to ensure that the talent and experience of The King of Strong Style are properly utilized on SmackDown moving forward.
AJ Styles' WWE future remains uncertain
AJ Styles has accomplished everything there is to achieve in WWE. He is a multi-time world champion, but his future with the company appears uncertain.
According to Fightful Select, many within the industry believe that The Phenomenal One’s current contract is set to expire either later this year or at the beginning of 2025.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura moving forward.
