WWE's next PPV Survivor Series is right around the corner, and the buzz around the event is at its peak. With NXT being thrown into the mix for the first time, we will be seeing NXT, RAW and SmackDown battle for brand supremacy at the event.

Over the past few years, Survivor Series has featured traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series matches as well as multiple contests between the reigning champions on RAW and SmackDown. This year, however, we will have these matches in a triple threat stipulation as teams and competitors from NXT will be included.

Surprisingly, however, while many fans expected WWE to announce Brock Lesnar vs The Fiend vs Adam Cole (all world champions of their brand) - WWE has kept the WWE and Universal Championship matches away from the 'brand-wars', as Brock Lesnar will face Rey Mysterio for the WWE Championship and Bray Wyatt will take on Daniel Bryan for the Universal Championship.

Alex McCarthy of Talksport spoke to Triple H and tweeted:

Triple H says Adam Cole Vs The Fiend Vs Brock Lesnar was considered, but WWE felt the story with Lesnar and Rey Mysterio was 'so strong' they felt they had to go with that.
