WWE Superstar Bron Breakker is currently dominating as the Intercontinental Champion. The 27-year-old reclaimed the belt after losing it to Jey Uso to begin his second IC Title reign. Interestingly, there’s a possibility that Triple H could soon take the championship away from Breakker. Moreover, the belt could see John Cena become its new holder when he returns.
The Leader of the Cenation is a 16-time world champion and has the highest number of world title reigns alongside Ric Flair. Despite this big achievement, John Cena has never won the Intercontinental Championship.
However, he could now dethrone Bron Breakker to earn the gold and add another feather to his future Hall of Fame career. With Cena retiring in 2025, Triple H could put the title on his shoulder and dethrone Bron Breakker.

Breaker has previously overcome Jey Uso to recover the belt. If WWE proceeds with this storyline, then he has the chance to take the title back from John Cena as well. This would be a big achievement for the rising star’s career as well. However, all of this remains speculation and we'll know more once Cena is back on his retirement tour in 2025.
Triple H could also make John Cena a 17-time world champion
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens are locked in a very volatile and personal feud right now. The Prizefighter sent The American Nightmare out on a stretcher after destroying him with a Package Piledriver after losing his title shot at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Following this, Triple H had a physical confrontation against KO where he shoved the latter for posing with the Winged Eagle title. Interestingly, the company can use this as a stepping stone to dethrone Rhodes and make Kevin Owens the new Undisputed WWE Champion.
Following this, The Game can bring John Cena as his trusted man to end the reign of The Prizefighter. This would open the door for the Stamford-based promotion to revive the John Cena and Kevin Owens rivalry. The Cenation Leader can then win the belt back from The Prizefighter in an epic match.
Notably, The Rock is a common rival of both Rhodes and Cena. The promotion can book The Final Boss to fight The American Nightmare for the number one contender spot. If the inaugural Men's Crown Jewel Champ beats The Brahma Bull, it would set the stage for him to dethrone Cena. Thus, the company’s biggest babyface could pass on the torch to WWE’s current big babyface.
It would be interesting to see how Triple H plans out the retirement year of the future Hall of Famer.
