WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is one of the finest heels today. The Ring General has been a workhorse champion since winning the title. However, the Imperium leader may soon lose his gold to a major superstar.

The reigning champion kicked off the latest episode of Monday Night RAW while addressing fans ahead of his important title defense at Saturday Night's Main Event 2024. Challenger Finn Balor, accompanied by The Judgment Day, confronted Gunther, reminding him that he is the champion because of his interference, which makes him the rightful contender, unlike Dirty Dom.

In response, Gunther reminded Balor that his Universal Championship reign lasted only one night and that it ended eight years ago, and he expressed that he is currently the “Best in the World.” Fans and experts have noted that Triple H may have subtly hinted at The Ring General’s future opponent.

“The Best in the World” catchphrase belongs to CM Punk in WWE; despite an upright reign and the possibilities of momentous matches still ahead, Triple H might take the title off Gunther to crown Punk as the champion, which could lead to a major WrestleMania 41 matchup.

Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?

During his heated feud against Drew McIntyre, Punk declared he would go after the World Heavyweight Championship before Drew dragged him back to war. Now, The Best in the World has finally begun his much-awaited feud against Rollins, which will most likely lead to a WrestleMania 41 showdown.

Adding the World Heavyweight Championship would eventually raise the stakes of the storyline; both superstars were supposed to lock horns last year at WrestleMania 40 before Punk sustained a real-life injury.

Major stipulation added to Gunther vs Finn Balor’s match

The 37-year-old champion defended his title against Damian Priest at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 after Finn Balor took Priest out. Following these incidents, The Prince asked for a match against The Ring General.

RAW General Manager Adam Pearce granted him the match. During the latest episode of the Monday Night Show, Damian Priest rushed out during the Judgment Day and Gunther’s segment. However, he was soon outnumbered, and Balor, with his crew, managed to punish The Ring General and The Archer of Infamy.

After the chaos, Adam Pearce informed Finn Balor of the consequences of his and Judgment Day's attacking The Ring General and Priest. The World Heavyweight Championship match at Saturday Night's Main Event will be a triple threat, with Damian as the second challenger for the title.
