Triple H, known more for his wrestling skills and his brutal matches with his opponents, is the one who’s now shaping and carving out WWE‘s future.
Onscreen Triple H plays the role of a COO, but in actual management context the role doesn’t exist. He is the ‘Executive Vice President of
Talent and Live Events’ adding to the many different roles he is playing in the management of the WWE.
How does he qualify for the Job? Only an imprudent man would dare to ask the question!
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
But for those who will still have a question; here is the answer to it:
20 yrs of Professional Wrestling, his love for the business, the impact he creates with his long term goals, him being a veteran working with recruitment department and also training the creative team and well, yes being the husband of Stephanie McMahon. Any other wrestler would quietly retire after a certain years of wrestling at the top, but not Triple H. He chose to handle the day to day business of the company with his wife Stephanie McMahon. Now he’s far busier than he was before. We all know that Vince McMahon is not getting any younger and his son Shane McMahon was never worthy to take the throne but that was not the case with Stephanie.
The McMahon legacy was passed on to Stephanie and she is cunning like her father. Triple H is her husband and he has got long term plans for the company as he aims at developing better product (wrestlers) for the good run of business in future. So we all know who’s going to be the future boss!
It’s too early to say that Triple H is as good as Vince McMahon but I’m going to run through Triple H’s performance in the management.
Recruiting
Triple H being the ‘EVP of Talent’ has the final say when it comes to recruiting a new talent which shows his influence in the company. He is an old-school guy but his approach, however, seems to be a balance of honoring tradition and also bringing in a change at the same time.Size and strength was the main look out when things were under Vince, but Triple H clearly recognizes the new direction of the industry.Triple H is mainly focusing on skills and agility, finding athletic wrestlers from the independent circuit. Antonio Cesaro, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose; all had performed in the Indies before they got recruited.
Creative
Vince McMahon is still the decision maker in the board but Triple H’s voice is only second to Vince. Daniel Bryan is clearly not the type whom Mr. McMahon would chose to be at the top, but Triple H sees business in Bryan, which he brought up in the meeting and currently we all are witnessing Daniel Bryan soar to the top.
Tag team division was dying to say the least but Triple H has finally rescued the department from death. Team Hell No had massive success in the last year and they were paired together by Hunter himself. Team Rhodes Scholars and Prime Time are other examples of how Triple H revived the Tag Team Division. Stephanie is the ‘EVP of Creative’ and she has always accepted that she takes Triple H’s suggestions very seriously as he understands the business in and out. Vince McMahon & Triple H no doubt have difference in opinion in the meeting room and Triple H cunningly took this issue and led it to a positive direction by designing a possible feud going to Wrestlemania 30 as reported earlier.
Development
As mentioned earlier, Triple H had a vision, a dream of making an advanced center for development of new talents. Levesque’s vision continued to meld, including where this potential state-of-the-art WWE Performance Center would be housed. Full Sail University helped make the decision an easy one. He with his wife and team made the biggest change till date in talent development by creating the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. It was his vision and dream that led to it.
These were Stephanie’s words on the opening ceremony of the center, “I just think the word that sums it up is pride,” McMahon said. “I’m just so incredibly proud of him, and I’m really proud of the team. I’m really proud of all the superstars and divas, but it takes a leader and a visionary. My husband is that man, and this is his vision. I couldn’t be more proud.”
This center provides world-class strength and conditioning program and cutting-edge edit and production facilities. The training that’s provided there will help WWE get the most out of its prospects. So its just not another gym where huge guys can come and build up there curves!
The center has focused on technology as much at it has on weights and rings. Guys can work on their promo skills in a private studio and production suites. So, it basically tackles every aspect of sports entertainment business, making the guys ready to perform onscreen.
Jim Cornette once said, “Nobody is qualified to replace Vince McMahon.”
I being an ardent follower of Triple H would second that opinion along with most veterans of the WWE. I’m sure the readers have the same opinion of him as well.
