This week's episode of WWE SmackDown was broadcast from Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The show kicked off with a recap of SmackDown's invasion of RAW.
As the broadcast cut to the live cameras, AJ Styles came out to talk about his Survivor Series opponent, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman interrupted him and they both argued about who would win at Survivor Series.
Daniel Bryan made his way out to pick a fight with AJ, and AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan got into a serious brawl before Shane McMahon along with other WWE officials separated them.
AJ Styles then interrupted a backstage conversation between Bryan, Paige, and Shane, continuing the brawl. Shane McMahon separated them once again and made a match between two of them for the WWE Championship.

Next on SmackDown Live, Jeff Hardy faced Andrade 'Cien' Almas and defeated him comfortably. Paige and The Miz were backstage watching the match, and Miz made Jeff Hardy a member of Team SmackDown. Paige then made a match between The Miz and Rey Mysterio.
After some incredible action, Rey Mysterio beats Miz, and after the match, Randy Orton came out to attack Rey Mysterio, but the luchador escaped just in time, and The Miz took the RKO.
Becky Lynch then came out next to announce her replacement to fight Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series. Becky chooses Charlotte Flair, and told her to make Ronda tap out.
Also on this week's SmackDown Live, The Bar and The Big Show faced The New Day. Big Show picked the victory for his team when he caught Kofi with a KO punch and got the win.
Backstage, The Usos handed shirts out to The Colons, The Good Brothers Gallows, and Anderson as well as SAnitY, officially inviting them to be the tag teams representing SmackDown at SummerSlam alongside The New Day.
In the main event of this week's SmackDown Live, AJ Styles lost his Championship match against Daniel Bryan. Daniel Bryan took advantage of referee distraction and hit AJ Styles with a low blow, and then executed the running knee for the win.
After the match, Daniel Bryan attacked AJ Styles and looked at the title, smiling evilly. A shocking heel turn from Bryan ended the show as the crowd relentlessly booed him.
