Twitter reacts to WWE Raw 13th June, 2016

The Shield ‘Reunion’ was an entertaining segment

Today’s episode of Raw came to us from New Orleans. The episode had some really fun segments like the opening one with The New Day and Enzo and Cass. So was the Ambrose Asylum segment with the former Shield brethren and the contract signing between Cena and Styles.

The rematches between the Money In The Bank contestants were good matches but the constant rehashing the same Superstars has really gotten a little stale, especially Ambrose versus Jericho.

The women’s tag team match also got announced which means the Women’s Championship will not be defended at MITB. Also, where’s Sasha?

Overall this episode of Raw was much better than what had been presented in the last few weeks and it left us excited for Money In The Bank.

#5 Predictable

Raw has gotten a little formulaic over the last few years. With Money In The Bank this Sunday, it was so predictable that the MITB contestants would get into a brawl between themselves at some point in the show as Aaron Rift of nodq.com pointed out.

The main event of Raw was another rematch between Ambrose and Jericho with the other contestants at ringside and Kevin Owens was pure gold on commentary once again.

But the segment predictably ended with all six Superstars getting into a massive brawl.

#4 Roman’s boos just keep getting louder

The Shield brethren were in the ring during the Ambrose Asylum segment on Raw. The segment itself was one of the best on the show but one thing to take away from it was that Roman Reigns was once again unpopular with most of the crowd.

Even with a series of fantastic matches behind him, Roman just can’t get popular with a majority of the fans, so much so that when Seth Rollins mentioned the moment he hit Roman Reign’s with a steel chair to break up The Shield, he was almost universally cheered by the crowd as @TheMattFowler pointed out.

#3 Primo & Epico’s new gimmick is destined for failure

Primo and Epico’s re-debut a few weeks ago was met with an extremely lacklustre response from the crowd, even though they’d had weeks of vignettes to hype up their arrival.

Since that match, the duo has gone back to doing the Puerto Rico themed vignettes, which to be honest, aren’t very compelling at all. It looks like this gimmick is destined to fail even before they’ve had a proper go at it as @PlanetKayfabe pointed out on Twitter.

#2 TNA who?

John Cena showed us once again why he’s one of the best on the mic during the contract signing segment on Raw.

During the segment, he mentioned that AJ Styles has won championship’s everywhere from PWG and ROH to New Japan. One name that was absent was TNA, the company that AJ Styles helped build during his 12 years there.

As @solomonster put it, poor TNA, they just can’t catch a break.

#1 A great opening segment

The opening segment between New Day and Enzo and Cass was definitely weird, but it was entertaining as hell. The two teams started off with Francesca 2 and went onto everything from trombone sex to storm troopers and eventually involved the other two teams involved in Sunday’s Fatal Fourway tag team match.

Although the opening segments during the last few weeks of Raw haven’t been good, this one had everything in it that made pro wrestling promos great as @cagesideseats observed.
