WWE's first PPV of the year, Royal Rumble was a massive success. Decorated with exceptional matches and surprising segments, it was the perfect way to kick-start the Road to WrestleMania.
The annual show saw the women's Royal Rumble match main eventing one of the big four PPVs. Amidst the multiple main roster debuts and the returning legends, Shinsuke Nakamura and Asuka won their respective Royal Rumbles.
While Nakamura chose to challenge SmackDown Champion AJ Styles, Asuka had a different fate awaiting her. After the match, she was in the ring with Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair and had to choose her challenger for WrestleMania.
However, it was Ronda Rousey that caused the crowd to erupt. She made an appearance after the match and walked straight to the ring. She looked at all the three women in the ring and pointed at WrestleMania before the show ended. Therefore, the 2018 Royal Rumble opened doors to several speculations before its conclusion.
