#2 Shane McMahon fires Daniel Bryan during the match

Daniel has been getting closer to Zayn and Owens

Shane does not appreciate how Bryan has been handling the situation with Zayn and Owens for the past few weeks. First, Bryan interrupted him firing the duo, only to reveal in a backstage segment later that he never intended to fire the duo in the first place. In his absence, Daniel inserted himself into the match, which Shane sees as an insulting gesture and goes against his plan of destroying Owens and Zayn at Clash of Champions.

How could it happen?

Daniel and Shane keep crossing paths during the match. They disagree various times over things like corner times and count outs outside the rope. The tension brews through the match and breaks through when Daniel interrupts Shane trying to pin Sami because he saw Sami's foot on the rope. An infuriated Shane asks Daniel to leave the ring immediately. He calmly says it's an administrative order and Daniel denies. As Daniel turns around to administer the match, Shane pulls Daniel by the collar, looks him straight in the eye, and says the two magic words to Bryan's face.

Daniel is in shock, as Shane orders him to get out of the ring. Security escorts Daniel to the back of the arena, as the match continues.
