The 2024 WWE Survivor Series may be a couple of months away, but possible matches for the major event are already being theorized. Interestingly, a couple of the company's wrestling veterans might partake in the show.
The two wrestling legends in question are Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce, who serve as SmackDown and RAW's General Managers, respectively. The former signed with the company in August 2023 and served as a backstage producer before becoming an on-screen authority two months later. Meanwhile, the latter has been with WWE since 2013 as a guest coach and trainer, officially signing with them in 2015 and becoming an on-screen authority in 2020. Although both are known as in-ring authorities, that can change come Survivor Series.
Recently, Adam posted a video on social media teasing whether he would return as an in-ring superstar to face Nick, to which he hinted that he is interested. Following this, Aldis implied that he was also interested in the idea of returning and facing Pearce, even posting a photo of himself in the gym to show he was physically ready.
If Aldis and Pearce decide to return to in-ring action, the match could take place at Survivor Series 2024. The event is known for its 'brand wars' and since both men are the General Managers of WWE's main roster, they could either fight each other in a singles match or even partake in a tag team match to represent their brands.
Although Pearce competed in 2021 as part of a gauntlet match to determine Roman Reigns' next challenger for the Universal Championship, he wasn't legitimately in action as he was just attacked by Jey Uso before his body was laid on top of Shinsuke Nakamura to win the match. The same can be said about his March 2021 tag team match on RAW with Braun Strowman, wherein all he did was get pinned by Shelton Benjamin.
What are the actual chances that Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce will wrestle in WWE?
Although both men have only teased the idea of getting back in the ring and squaring off, they have a good chance of doing so.
The RAW GM previously shared in July 2023 on a Facebook post that injuries weren't the reason why he left competing. He explained that he just no longer wanted to wrestle and felt physically and mentally exhausted.
On the other hand, the SmackDown General Manager, who last wrestled in October, explained in an appearance on the Gorilla Position podcast in June this year that if getting in the ring was the best way to contribute to WWE, then he would do so.
Given that Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce are healthy and are not dealing with any serious injuries, it may only be a matter of time before they meet inside a WWE ring as superstars.
