Unpopular Opinion: How Becky Lynch has probably lost her momentum

In WWE, your character can be the thing that makes or breaks your career. WWE is a company that primarily focuses on entertainment by blending eccentric characters and storylines with pro wrestling. If you have a character with quirky catchphrases and are good at cutting a promo, you will more than likely succeed under Vince McMahon.

We did see people like The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and John Cena, just to name a few, thrive in the company because of their characters. But there have been very few female wrestlers that have managed to become household names, until recently. One of those few is none other than 'The Man' Becky Lynch.

Becky has literally taken the ball and run with it. Her heel turn at SummerSlam last year gave her stale character a new lease of life. Of course, the crowd couldn't boo her due to the valid points she was making.

She has turned face again and has been literally on a tear since last year. From having rivalries with Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair to her brutal Twitter insults, Becky has excelled at her job.

But is Becky starting to lose her momentum since WrestleMania 35?

Unfortunately I am going to have to say yes, however, please hear me out on why I think she is.

Becky started off on the right foot as a 'take no prisoners' ruthless heel after SummerSlam. She was cheered as a heel because she had stopped pandering to the crowd to get a pop. If there's one thing fans hate, it is when a face panders to them.

When WWE turned her face again, she started doing it, which turned many fans off her. Had she been presented more like the ruthless Steve Austin character of 1997-98, it would have resonated better with fans, as she isn't caring what they think of her. She just needs to go out there, win, and take names.

Becky insults many people over Twitter, sometimes going too far sometimes. While it may seem fun for us to read, it hasn't sat well with many of the female talent or certain fans. Nobody appears to be off-limits on Twitter as far as it goes with 'The Man'.

People like Road Warrior Animal, Corey Graves, and even Vince McMahon haven't even been safe. Some people may see her as a bully, however, I feel she is using Twitter to further her build. She could do a little less insulting of people though, and more butt kicking.

Becky's constant feud with Charlotte would also be playing a part in her momentum loss. There are only so many times you can put opponents against each other before it becomes repetitive and boring.

This feud has been done into the ground and needs to be wrapped up at Money in the Bank (MITB). The other women need to be built up as credible challengers to Becky (if she remains as double champ). The rest of the division has been neglected for far too long. It's mainly due to the focus being on Ronda, Becky, and Charlotte over the past year.

The feud between Ronda, Charlotte, and Becky was handled very poorly by WWE, leading up to WrestleMania. It felt like they were literally throwing them on TV simply to fill air time, with no real purpose to help the feud. A lot of segments from February onwards were simply meaningless. Becky was supposed to be suspended, yet somehow was allowed to show up every week.

WWE not making logical booking decisions and overexposure of her character could possibly have ruined what could have been the next major star. There is every chance WWE could fix the mistakes they have made, yet if history is anything to go by, the damage may be done.

Becky is still very over with the fans, but nowhere near what she was. WWE creative has tweaked her character too much. It's really disappointing that creative constantly manages to ruin the characters fans are behind.

Instead of constantly making changes to Becky and her character, it should have been left how it was at the start. As the saying goes - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
