As we all saw last night, WWE Superstar Enzo Amore was hurt during the tag team tournament finals at WWE Payback. He was thrown into the ropes by Simon Gotch and was potentially going for a slide underneath the ropes. Sadly he missed and his his head on the middle rope, then whiplashed on the hardest part of the mat, hitting his head. It was horrible to watch and it looked wicked in normal look.
We ended up seeing a slow motion replay, which gave us a better understanding of what actually happened. WWE attempted to give us updates as the Payback event went on. Everyone was cheering for Enzo to have a concussion, which is sort of sad to cheer for. However, he very well could have had a neck injury, spinal injury, or much worse. So we were all hoping a concussion would be it as it clearly was the least of what he was going to have.
According to The Wrestling Observer, Enzo was diagnosed with a severe concussion. He is in good spirits and even made sure to sort of joke around like normal. He was even allowed to go home last night, which was good to see. He was able to communicate and move everything before the ambulance even left the arena, when he arrived to the hospital they put him through a variety of tests.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Most all came back negative, but of course he did sustain a concussion. Due to the fact that he seems to be doing okay with talking (are you surprised he can talk?) and he is able to move his body like normal, this does not look to be career threatening. However, he will need to pass the imPACT concussion test before he can return to a WWE ring. While it still remains uncertain how long he will be out, usually with cases like this, it is a minimum of a month.
However, we may be looking at two to three months going off of this being a severe concussion. However, if he can pass all tests sooner than this, he’ll be back early.
Clearly Enzo Amore had become a very beloved character in WWE. The casual fans were even becoming huge fans of he and Big Cass. Sadly, accidents happen in the world of pro-wrestling and sometimes there is nothing you can do to avoid the problem from occurring. Here is hoping to a speedy recovery for the Certified G.
