Update on WWE's star's suspension, official statement and more

Did Hornswoggle really test positive for a banned substance?

WWE is really strict when it comes to their wellness policy and if a line is crossed regarding the same, stringent measures are taken. Hornswoggle realised this the hard way after he was suspended for 30 days on Monday for his very first violation of the policy.

Dylan Postl aka Hornswoggle reportedly tested positive for a banned substance which if the rumors are to be believed are false. According to a credible source, Hornswoggle was apparently surprised when he was asked to produce his urine for tests at his home and he had a time span of three hours to produce a urine sample, which he failed to do. At this moment, these are just rumors but when it comes to WWE’s wellness policy the talents that are subjected to tests are informed a few hours prior to the test is conducted.

They can be subjected to announced tests at any time though and the policy is such that the WWE has to conduct a minimum of 4 tests in a year for every star. It is also stated that a talent gets two hours to submit their samples and a delay of over two hours would lead to refusal of the sample. Any refusal would automatically count as a positive result and eventual penalties being issued on the star that is guilty.

It also has to be noted that Hornswoggle has not been a regular fixture on WWE TV for some time now and he might have been a victim to an announced test, which might have caught him off guard. In any case, he is suspended for 30 days and when the WWE was asked about the details of his suspension and as to why exactly he got the boot, they issued the following statement:

“Due to privacy laws, WWE does not release the specific nature of the violation.”
